Milford Center came back to life almost a decade ago, and the centerpiece here is the duck pond and City Hall constructed to resemble Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s home. The Corner Restaurant is an unforgettable cutie with a breakfast menu that is off-the-charts creative. Along with the usual suspects (like the scratch-made buttermilk blueberry pancakes I had) is the Portobello Florentine, poached eggs resting on portobello mushrooms, spinach, and English muffins, all smothered with Hollandaise. The selections are endless and each made with care. I dined with everyday regular Tom Delisle whose favorites include the strawberry & banana stuffed French Toast and an eggwhite omelet with sweet potato hash.

Server Marc Nobel deserves a prize for his skills, and the effervescent owners Michelle and hubby, Amer Lebel, both cook and love to coo over their customers. The lunch menu is also wildly creative.
